I have not had a haircut for the last 1.5 years that I’d been away from home. LoL. Haircuts in Ozland seems to be quite pricey to me and I have never simply allow any hairdresser to cut or style my hair except Mum’s hairdresser since I was 10. Thus, I had just allowed my hair to grow and grow and before I realised it, I started to received comments since early of the year about how long my hair had gotten. To date, it had grown right down to my waist and this is only the second time ever in my whole entire life where I had allowed my hair to grown to this length.
Ever since comments about the length of my hair started pouring in at the beginning of the year, lots of people had even suggested that I join a Chinese Opera group cause I’ll be able to help the production and management company save money on hair extensions. For those who are unfamiliar with Chinese Opera, the Chinese Opera shows tend to be very dramatic and its actors are required to put on elaborate make up depicting the importance of the characters in the show. As far as I can remember from my childhood days, I’ve always associate Chinese Opera with long haired actors who will swing their head so that their long hair will go round and round to show their pitiful and poor position in the opera show. Hence, the many suggestions from friends that I join a Chinese Opera because I’ll definitely fulfill one big criteria already.
Anyway, after 1.5 years, I’d finally gotten around to chop some of my locks off. My hair is still considerably long (it’s still past my shoulders) but it’s not long enough for me to join the Chinese Opera. LoL. I’d finally gotten myself side swept fringe and it helped took a few years off my age. Looking slightly younger than nearly 24 years is one thing. The fringe and haircut made it so prominent to everybody that I put on weight! Yikes! The last thing I want is for every 3 ku 6 po (busy bodies in Cantonese) who will be attending Uncle Edwin’s wedding this Saturday to make a comment about my weight. And if that is not enough, I have to brace myself for many other different sets of questions regarding bout my major, job hunting process and most annoyingly, my love life. Argh!
All that aside, I’m so loving my new do now. Tee hee.
